Living Pod

A Space That Reconnects Presence

Created by What The Form, Living Pod is a conceptual spatial object designed for Digital Design Week 2026.

The project responds to one of today’s most relevant tensions: the growing presence of digital technology in children’s everyday lives. Rather than opposing technology, Living Pod proposes a different approach—creating a physical environment that naturally encourages curiosity, imagination, focus, and meaningful interaction.
Designed as a hybrid between furniture, architecture, and experience, the pod becomes a semi-enclosed sanctuary where children can explore, play, read, learn, or simply pause. Its soft organic form, warm material palette, and modular interior create an environment that feels protective, adaptable, and welcoming.
Instead of asking children to disconnect from technology, Living Pod offers something equally engaging in the physical world—a place where attention shifts naturally from screens to space, movement, and imagination.
More than an object, Living Pod is a proposition for how future living environments can gently restore balance between the digital and physical, creating spaces where presence becomes a choice rather than an obligation.

Bandung Design Biennale

Bandung Design Biennale 2023 was a month-long design festival held from October 1 to October 28, 2023 in Bandung. The event focused on the theme “Around: Cultural Transformation Discourse and Design Ideas in Community Solutions.” The biennale showcased exhibitions, design discussions, community gatherings, and studio tours aimed at highlighting design’s social impact and fostering creative ecosystems in Bandung.

As a participant, WTF contributed a concept centered on social behavior and public space improvement titled “Breaking the Habit: A Smoking Awareness Exhibition.” This idea proposed creating designated smoking booths in public areas like coffee shops and restaurants. The purpose was to offer a considerate alternative for smokers to enjoy their habit while respecting non-smokers, including vulnerable groups such as pregnant women and children, who also frequent these spaces. In short, this aimed to including vulnerable groups, fostering tolerance and new behavior for shared outdoor areas.
